What about me? When I think about how great my life has been, I think about a line in one of Hank Snows old songs, Ive been everywhere Man . My wonderful life started out in a small town in Colorado with my parents. Eventually, they added a sister and brother for me. Lots of good times and good fun there in that little two bedroom house. My father was transferred to Utah we were so excited because there was actually a stop light in town. We took a few family vacations and went to Salt Lake and Denver regularly and even went to California a few times. I graduated from high school in Utah and then went off to see the world. Graduated from business college in Denver, then went to work for the FBI in Washington, D.C. That was quite an experience for a small town girl from Utah. I didnt last too long at the FBI. J. Edgar Hoover died during the short time I was there, but his legacy of white shirts and ties and strict secrecy policies remained in place. We were encouraged to spy on everyone around us and that just wasnt what I wanted to do in my life. I went on to work for Internal Revenue Service, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms and Department of Treasury in various jobs and capacities. While in Washington I traveled extensively and before I left there had been in almost every state in the nation. Also had the opportunity to meet great people and worked for three different Presidents. That was a great experience that I will always cherish. I took some college classes along the way and got my Virginia real estate license in 1980. Worked for only one broker there and sold Lake Anna properties. Was a great part-time job. Moved back to Utah in 1981 and met my husband, Ray, there. He was from Kentucky and had a wonderful southern drawl. I got my Utah real estate license shortly after I met him and worked for a national franchise. Interest rates went to 21% during that time and I started hating my job. Seeing people all around losing their homes because they couldnt sell them. Got out of real estate. Ray was transferred to Montana in 1986 and we were married on Red Lodge Mountain in September 1987. I went to work for the Chamber of Commerce and loved my job. It was just part time though, so I had to find a more full time job. Went to work for a real estate office as an office manager, but decided to get my license in 1993. So, I have been involved in the real estate industry in this area for fifteen years. I have worked hard to get the extra education required to earn my Brokers license and designations of Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI) and Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES). I truly believe that it makes a difference to buyers and sellers that their real estate professional is really a PROFESSIONAL. Someone who has varied life experiences and real estate experience is invaluable. Knowledge of the area and of financing options is important, although I refer people to the professionals in law, home inspections, banking and financing when appropriate. I am committed to give my customers the best customer service that they can get in real estate matters. I have committed myself to learning this industry and going the extra mile to share that knowledge with my clients. |
